Objectives of the course:

1. To enrich students with the idea of Libraries and Information Centre Management.

2. To understand the concept of Open Access Content Management.

3. To be aware of Institutional Repositories and other educational resources.

4. To acquire knowledge of library automation, digital library.

Learning outcome

1. Ability to understand the basics of Libraries and Information Centre Management.

2. Developing knowledge about Open Access resources and their management.

3. Enabling students to understand the concept of library automation, digital library systems and software.

Library Management-Definition, Need, Functions and Scope, Different Management theories and their application in Library and Information Centre Management.

Open Access (OA) Content Management-over view, workflow, Content Management in Gold OA and Green OA, Integration of OA Contents

Institutional Repository(IR)-Concept, Objectives and Purpose, UGC initiatives in IR like Sodhganga, Sodhgangotri, etc., Different E-Learning Platforms and Government of India initiatives like SWAYAM, e-PG Pathsala, e-Adhayan, Open Educational Resources, MOOCs, NDLI, NPTEL, etc. Library management software-Concepts, Types, Overview of KOHA, SOUL; Digital Library Software-DSpace, GSDL, E-Print Archive, etc.
